In the quote above, Bloomberg is addressing New York citizens on his opinion in regards to the proposed building of a mosque near Ground Zero in lower Manhattan. This proposal quickly became a controversial public issue when arguments arose about how preposterous the new place of worship would be, claiming that it was Muslims who initiated the attacks on 9/11.
